Winter

classroom

Cold weather has now hit most of the east coast and the entrance reducers should be to their smallest opening.  This will help your colony maintain their warmth.  Those who are using wood blocks should make sure the opening is no greater than ½ inch opening.  One additional item to also check is “cracks” or “holes” in your hive body.  These should be covered with corrugated plastic so the wind does not blow into the hive.
